Orloga Paper Sea.
A boat with a paper sail against oceans of plastic.
A Basque engineering company, a leader in its sector with international clients in Mexico and Finland, turning 40 and immersed in an intergenerational transition, asked us to showcase the value of its project. And from that moment on, our whole focus was on avoiding the typical corporate video. We wanted something that would run across LinkedIn generating organic interest, so the world would understand there’s a different kind of company here without saying it explicitly.
In the strategic research phase we fell in love when we discovered that they work with ideas to give paper a bigger future as a substitute for plastic. Ideas and sustainability.
And that’s what we put on the table. An idea: if paper has a very, very big future, why not do something that has never been done in all of history to tell it? “Something with Basque personality, that champions ideas, that sounds like a challenge and goes around the world”.
And so we came up with the idea of inventing a sail made of paper, taking a 3-ton boat and trying to make it sail with it. So that this Basque story of a boat, a challenge and a sustainable way of doing things would travel around the world. And to prove that ideas are an unstoppable force, capable of moving more than a three-ton boat: ideas can move the world.
The boat set sail, sailed, and has already returned to port. The work is still traveling the world and collecting awards.
